In addition to our after school programs, Bolts & Bytes Maker Academy also offers daytime STEM classes in Jacksonville Beach that are perfect for the homeschool community! We offer homeschool STEM, engineering & maker classes like robotics, 3D printing, coding, drone racing and much more. IF MY STUDENT IS IN THE 10AM & 12:30PM CLASSES, DO I NEED TO PICK THEM UP IN BETWEEN?
Not unless you want to. We’re happy to have students stay with us over the break between sessions. Just please plan on sending in a bag lunch with your student. We have a refrigerator available to store their lunches and a microwave to warm up their food if needed. They’ll have a chance to eat lunch, chat with friends and have some supervised down-time in between sessions.
DO YOU PROVIDE DRINKS, FOOD OR SNACKS?
We don’t provide drinks or snacks to students due to dietary and allergy concerns. However, you are more than welcome to send in any snacks, a water bottle or drinks with your student.
DO YOU HOLD ACADEMIC CLASSES — LIKE SCIENCE, CHEMISTRY OR PHYSICS?
No, we don’t offer any purely academic classes — we focus on teaching through project-based learning in subjects that students get truly excited about. However, if you require any documentation for our classes to help bolster your students’ transcripts, please let us know. We’d be happy to help!
DO YOU EVER OFFER YOUR CLASSES OUTSIDE OF YOUR JAX BEACH MAKERSPACE?
Yes, we have worked with homeschool groups and coops to both offer our programs as part of their core curriculum and as enrichments. If your group would like to talk about partnering with Bolts & Bytes, please feel free to contact us.
