MKR LAB is our new series of short-run classes, each focused on a fun theme or maker skill. These 4-week mini-classes feature fun projects that build useful skills that kids actually want to learn!

Each MKR LAB topic has separate classes for our older and younger makers that focus on age-appropriate techniques, tools and projects. PLUS be sure to check out our special Double Length Sessions where students get extra time to explore, play and build!

WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO PROTECT STUDENTS FROM COVID-19?

The health and safety of our students, their families and our staff are our top priority!

We have taken many steps to ensure the safety of everyone at Bolts & Bytes and help slow the spread of the novel coronavirus, including strongly suggesting masks for all students and staff, capping all class sizes to 10 students or fewer, taking temperatures upon arrival, using copious amounts of hand sanitizer, sanitizing our space, tools and materials before during and after sessions and much more. DO STUDENTS HAVE TO WEAR FACE MASKS?

We strongly suggest that all students wear masks, especially if they have not been fully vaccinated. Face masks can include a paper or disposable mask, a cloth mask or a mask meant to filter dust. A face covering must cover the nose and mouth completely. The covering should not be overly tight or restrictive and should feel comfortable to wear.

IF MY STUDENT IS IN THE DOUBLE LENGTH SESSIONS, DO THEY GET A LUNCH BREAK?

YES! Students in our Double Length Sessions, which run from 10am - 2pm on Thursdays and Fridays, have a lunch break where they eat lunch, chat with friends and have some supervised down-time in between sessions. Please plan on sending in a bag lunch with your student. We have a refrigerator available to store their lunches and a microwave to warm up their food if needed. They’ll have a chance to eat lunch, chat with friends and have some supervised down-time in between sessions.

DO YOU PROVIDE DRINKS, FOOD OR SNACKS?

While we do provide bottled water for students, we do not provide any snacks or food due to potential dietary issues. However, you are more than welcome to send in any snacks or drinks with your student.

DO YOU EVER OFFER YOUR CLASSES OUTSIDE OF YOUR JAX BEACH MAKERSPACE?

Yes, we have worked with homeschool groups and coops to both offer our programs as part of their core curriculum and as enrichments. If your group would like to talk about partnering with Bolts & Bytes, please feel free to contact us.
